Analyst, Research- Motion Picture Group
Summary:
Communicates key research objectives to our vendors for both quantitative and qualitative global projects. Partakes in questionnaire design, recruit memos (for focus groups), reviews reports, analyzes results, and distributes reports to the wider marketing team. Writes internal tracking memos for long-lead titles and works closely with digital teams to create holistic reports. Writes internal memos regarding custom research and tack-ons and shares with internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
The position plans, manages and conducts research and analytical projects that address the Global Strategic Marketing & Research Department's needs. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assist Director(s) on the team with the creative testing process as needed, with questionnaire design, localization of materials, and analysis. Watch and take notes of focus groups as needed
• Actively oversee and manage both domestic and international tracking, tack-ons, box office predictions, consumer behavior/trends, and is responsible for crafting internal memos regarding each
• Report and analyze film profiles post-mortem (i.e. audience segmentation, rating, recommendation, and reasons for attending)
• Assist in the creation of key strategy documents that incorporate findings from all existing research conducted on a given title. Work closely with the Directors on the team and the digital team to create a comprehensive document that identifies each title's core audience and guides broad marketing strategy
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with external vendors to ensure the successful execution of the fieldwork
• Select appropriate research methodology and supporting techniques to meet a defined research objective
• Assist the development of research instruments and moderator guides, as well as reporting actionable recommendations
• Carefully review collected data for quality control purposes
• Some administrative support for department
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required
• 1-3 years' work experience; ideally 2 years in the entertainment industry
• Individual must possess extreme proficiency in written and quantitative skills. SPSS/ Regression Analysis are a plus.
• Strong project management skills. Must be detailed oriented and able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and oral communication, as well as presentation skills
• Strong analytic skills
• Proficient Excel skills
• Strong PC skills (Word, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge/Experience of surveys
• Firm quantitative and qualitative research background. Familiarity with methodologies and the latest approaches to Ad Testing, Branding and Positioning
