The Business Analyst is responsible for the requirements, analysis & design, and quality assurance of small to medium-scale software development projects with team sizes of 3 to 5 engineers. The Business Analyst is responsible for evaluating the business and user needs, documenting the requirements, proposing solutions, defining the scope of the project, identifying possible dependencies, and acting as a translator in delivering the proper specifications to the development team. The position is responsible for understanding business processes and documenting requirements for software product development. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Technology.
The position is located in Culver City, California.
Responsibilities:
Work with Production & Product Development teams, serving as the liaison between the business and the technology team with an understanding of the business processes and technology solutions
Lead the development and documentation of business processes and use case models for the functional requirements
Work with principal engineer and other development staff to document and communicate design
Create test plans and run performance testing and scalability validation processes through testing
Create training materials and train business users on the use of software applications
Perform analysis of operational areas and develop business metrics to support measurement and monitoring of organizational productivity, efficiency and quality
Work with the technology systems group to coordinate integration efforts with back-end software development
Recommend creative solutions to business issues
Consistently deliver outstanding work, always on time
Identify potential needs for improvements and advise senior management on potential solutions
Organize project documents for easy maintenance and retrieval
Provide detailed status reports to management
Requirements:
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in requirements gathering and quality assurance
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an enterprise application development environment
Expert knowledge of quality assurance and testing processes and procedures
Experience using one or more of the following development methodologies: OOAD, RAD, RUP, UML
Experience in front end web languages (HTML, PHP, JavaScript, DHTML, XML)
Experience in working with relational databases
Experience in digital marketing technologies, including web content management and publishing, web analytics, and email marketing
Self-motivated with the ability to work with a closely integrated team
Experience delivering projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral
Strong interpersonal skills
Experience in the Media & Entertainment industry a plus
