Sony Pictures Animation is a pre-production Animation studio that focuses on innovative Storytelling and Design. SPA is an ever-evolving organization and requires a commitment to change and innovation. The EVP, Production and Operating Strategy supervises multiple studio departments to ensure coordination and focus between various production and overhead groups. This position works closely with the president of animation to define studio priorities for near, mid-range and long term planning.

Sony Pictures Animation is a pre-production animation studio based in Culver City, California, creating both feature animation and animated series with artists from around the world. We pride ourselves on empowering filmmakers to lead the creative process, and allowing the hand of the artist to be truly felt, with the goal of producing bold and innovative visual storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with and support the President of Animation.
• Create and execute strategies to support SPA growth in output and budget.
• Manage headcount and annual financial responsibilities for SPA, liaising with SPE corporate finance and P&O.
• Oversee day to day operations of Physical Production, Post Production, Casting, SPA Tech, Artist Management and Operations to implement divisional goals.
• Liaise with SPE Corp Finance for planning and reporting on annual goals and staffing
• Liaise with BA to establish precedents and priorities.
• Liaise with Facilities and SPA departments to optimize employee engagement.
• Monitor studio for growth opportunities, to shape policy and manage logistics.
• Maintain an inclusive culture with an eye to salary fairness, studio policies, recruiting, DEI and other practices.
• Drive SPA practice to excel as employers as well as a creative force.
• Maintain and develop SPA studio reputation for quality, fairness and artist forward workplace.

Requirements:
• Experience 10+ years in various leadership positions which require change management.
• Exposure to creative pipelines in order to support SPA appetite for creative excellence.
• Understanding complexities and priorities for departments that are outside of the sphere of the role.
• Curiosity and interest in fresh points of view
• Sense of humor

The anticipated base salary for this position is $425,000 to $615,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
