Reporting directly to the EVP & CFO US Front Line Label Group, the VP Financial Planning & Analysis, US Front Line Label Group will play a pivotal supporting role in driving financial strategy, overseeing financial planning and analysis, and providing leadership and direction to the centralized label finance organization servicing the Sony Music US Front Line Label Group encompassing Columbia Records, RCA Records, Epic Records, Arista Records, Sony Music Nashville, Provident Music Group, and Ultra Records. This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong understanding of the music industry, exceptional financial acumen, and proven leadership skills.
What you'll do:
• Collaborate closely with individual label finance leads and manage the overall financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting across the US Front Line labels in support of business operations and to provide insights and recommendations to senior management and drive informed decision-making
• Partner with Global Finance team to align label finance processes with corporate reporting objectives and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with company policies
• Manage and optimize the artist project p&l reporting process, ensuring that it evolves alongside industry, business model, financial system and accounting structure changes
• Perform deal analysis as needed for new artist signings, renegotiations, investments, and acquisitions to support label business objectives
• Preside over preparation of budgets and forecasts for certain US Front Line label overhead cost line items of a sensitive nature
• Monitor and analyze financial performance of the US Front Line labels, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
• Develop and execute financial strategies to support the long-term growth and profitability of the US Front Line labels
• Drive process improvements and efficiencies within the financial planning & analysis function to harmonize, standardize, streamline, and optimize operations and support scalability
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to centralized label finance team members, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning
Who you are:
• You have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• You have a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity within the music industry or related entertainment sector
• You have a strong understanding of financial accounting principles and the financial planning & analysis process, with experience in a record label or music publishing environment preferred
• You will have leadership experience and experience mentoring and developing a large team
• You have a proven track record of developing and executing financial strategies to drive revenue growth, cost savings, and profit improvement
• You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights and recommendations
• You have demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• You have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organization

Salary/Benefits
$185,000.00 - 225,000.00 per year
