As the SVP of Data Strategy, this individual will lead a cutting-edge tech team that supports the continued development of analytical tools and data acquisition methodologies at Sony Music Entertainment.

• Lead and evangelize the transformational use of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party data usage throughout the organization
• Design and build large-scale, cutting-edge technology and analytic platforms to align with the company’s strategic objectives
• Oversee and manage a team of engineers and developers to facilitate all functions related to data strategy & planning, data warehousing, data governance, and data visualization
• Develop a technology framework for big data storage and accessibility, statistical analysis, reporting/measurement and data visualization
• Work closely with Product Management to identify potential opportunities to productize particular metrics or insights
• Collaborate with Engineering to maintain a catalog of all data entering the platform and identifying issues with data quality
• Produce compelling narratives through data analysis and visualization for client and partner meetings
• Be a hands on leader; work directly with team to solve particularly challenging cases and to share knowledge and best practices
Qualifications
Qualifications
• 7 years of experience overseeing analytics or business intelligence function
• Extensive experience with data exploration, data cleansing, or implementation of advanced statistics
• Prior experience leading a team supporting multiple departments or verticals
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, information science, or related field; Masters’ or PhD in Statistics or related field a plus
• Enterprise-level database experience
• Strong ability to translate business needs to technology solutions
• Ability to communicate effectively across teams with both technical and non-technical people.
• Love of music or film a plus
