Full Time Job
Initiate and implement an A&R strategy including:
• Discovering new artists who have the potential to be commercially successful, in particular focus on the worship space (including churches, worship ministries and individual artists) as well as CCM artists. Key components of new worship signings will be commercial appeal to the general worship consumer, as well as adaptability of songs and content from each artist/church/ministry into the congregational/church market
• Finding viable songs for new and current assigned artists
• Overseeing the ongoing development and recording of all assigned artists

Responsibilities
Identify potential new talent, concepts and projects using every available resource. Develop and coordinate the signing of new talent to Provident Music Group.
• Source potential talent through online research of church, worship ministry, and artist/band websites, as well as social networking sites.
• Attend live performances at churches, showcases, concerts, and other venues.
Act as liaison between assigned artists / new acts and label, advising on their sound and brand. Work closely with other label departments/employees including marketing, promotions, finance, media, and sales to determine follow up steps working toward commercial success of recorded material.
Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with artist roster and managers.
Oversee the recording process, providing creative input and direction, including the following
• Help artist find the most suitable producer and recording studio.
• Schedule recording sessions. Coordinate pre-production and production, mixing, mastering, and sequencing. Evaluate recording and mixing progress for each project.
• Plan recording budgets for assigned projects, keeping within agreed budget and schedule/timeline.
• Assist in finding and selecting songs and songwriters. Ensure timely delivery of finished masters.
• Advise the artist on all aspects of a high-quality recording.
Develop a network of resources including songwriters, producers, managers, booking agents, attorneys, concert promoters, trade and consumer press, and tastemakers.
Regularly update and educate label staff on A&R activities.
Represent the label as needed at various industry functions, artist showcases, public performances, conferences, presentations or corporate meetings.
Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of worship community, church, worship songs, and Christian music, typically gained from at least 5 years of music industry experience working directly with artists, such as in an A&R, creative director, or marketing capacity, or with a worship ministry
• Ability to separate/identify the commercially viable from the pack; a prior track record of finding and signing recording artists and/or songs for recorded projects is a plus
• Strong desire to support music and platforms of worship brands and Christian music artists
• Knowledge of worship consumer and worship music and an understanding of the current tastes and trends of the market
• Prior experience with all phases of making/recording a record
• Strong computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)
• Strong problem solving, social, and interpersonal skills; exceptional communication and time management skills; ability to prioritize and multi-task; able to work independently and as a part of a team
• Strong relationships with established songwriters, producers, attorneys, managers, and publishers and ability to create and maintain new relationships
• Available to travel and attend evening and weekend worship services, concerts, and showcases
• Working knowledge of the digital music space and social media
