The Specialist, Track Marketing is on the front lines of actively marketing SME catalog tracks that are reacting based on cultural trends and moments, such as a TikTok trend, key usage in a film, event/virtual event, etc. If you are an analytical thinker and deeply engaged in social media and energized by its ability to move culture with a focus on music – this may be the role for you. This role is part of Sony Legacy's Track Marketing & Audience Development team, and reports to the Associate Director , Track Marketing & Audience Development.
What you'll do:
• Lead project management for a catalog artist when a song is trending and lead various above and below the line marketing actions, to influence incremental streaming consumption
• Manage reporting, marketing budgets and analytics to measure the effectiveness of your campaigns, developing best practices and sharing learnings with key stakeholders
• Project manage thematic marketing campaigns of various sizes that range in focus and length - For example: Holiday/Christmas, Halloween, Love Songs/Valentine's Day, Seasonal (Summer, etc) and more
• Collaborate with Track Marketing team to lead Sony's multi-artist catalog playlist strategy . M anag e and maintain playlists across DSPs, including updating artwork and curation, advertising assets, pitches etc.
• Maintain a database of trends you're responsible for in an organized and standardized way, in alignment with the system your Team leader has in place. This includes updates on trend growth, artist involvement and marketing/advertising action
• Collaborate with the Track Marketing team on test campaigns, experimenting with new and innovative methods to drive incremental engagement and consumption, across social, live/virtual events, voice, etc.
• Interpret daily reports to identify cultural moments actively driving consumption for a song that we can enhance through marketing, advertising, & optimization efforts
• Lead a weekly Trending Tracks presentation in label-wide staff meeting
Who you are:
• You have at least 3 years of experience with a Marketing department in Music/Entertainment, Social Media or Creative Agency
• A thoughtful, organized and results-oriented professional
• An excellent communicator and enthusiastic collaborator who works well with team members, external partners, and senior management – effective at influencing, listening, and advocating
• Experience with digital advertising strategy and analytics
• Intuitive understanding of streaming reporting tools and the ability to develop reporting based on consumption metrics
• Experience in music streaming, including broad understanding of account base and streaming best practices
• Understands and is highly engaged in youth culture, market trends, digital music space, and social media, with an awareness of digital content strategies and the nuances of artist aesthetics and tone
• Skilled in the creation and delivery of presentations
• Ability to prioritize, problem solve and mobilize while maintaining a positive and productive approach in high-pressure situations
• Able to give and receive feedback
