Overview
Content Producers work as the creative engine for assets to support reissue and catalog campaigns for Sony Music's heritage and young catalog artists, as well as create Legacy new product lines. The Senior Producer will partner with the Marketing leads on projects and campaigns for our absolute biggest catalog artists. As a thought leader with a positive, can-do attitude, you will be accountable for holding the highest standards of creative output and building strong relationships with artist camps, including effectively managing daily interactions with the most high level and sensitive of artist management and their creative and social/digital teams.
Responsibilities
• Act as the primary content contact with artists, management and estates on high priority projects for Sony Music Catalog
• Work with the creative and marketing teams to determine the overarching story for the content suite prior to production and then bring the vision to life
• Find creative solutions to make content feel compelling and fresh even when given limited archival assets and potentially no access to an artist
• Oversee original content production including long-form documentaries and music videos
• Work with marketing to create compelling digital marketing tools to launch and maintain campaigns
• Oversee production of all social content and campaigns for assigned artists, as well as partnering with the digital team to drive any branded content programs
• Stay current with all trends in new content platforms and of new technology for content development
• Training and supervision of more junior level producers on the team
• Work with the physical packaging producer to source photos and videos for a thematically consistent campaign when necessary
• Develop, manage and track content budgets
• Research and hire 3rd party production companies and freelancers (editors, animators, photographers, Directors etc.) as needed
• Research relevant materials in the photo and video archives, license 3rd party materials if necessary
• Interface with Marketing and A&R for brainstorms and project development
• Work with BA to ensure all usage rights and necessary contracting is in place
• Work with copywriters to write social copy and scripts for DSPs when needed
Qualifications
• Candidate must have a college degree and at least 6 years related experience
• Keen eye for style, especially in the digital landscape
• Financial and budgetary proficiency
• Excellent managerial and interpersonal skills
• Tremendous understanding of content, music, and marketing landscapes
• Experiential production knowledge a plus
• High level of creativity and ''out-of-box'' thinking combined with an eye toward budgetary constraints
• Ability to problem-solve and think on your feet
• Pre-existing relationships with artists, management and estates is incredibly valuable
• Extensive knowledge and usage of all social platforms and best practices
• Occasional travel
• Occasional lifting on shoots as needed
