Senior Financial Analyst, Global Planning Analysis
Role within Global Finance (NY based position, reporting into London based Associate Director) to assist with analysis of strategic investment opportunities including Deal Analysis, Financial Modelling and Due Diligence; Business & Market Analysis and Review; and Global Financial Planning & Analysis activities.
What you'll do:
• Assist the Associate Director, Global Financial Planning & Analysis with the analysis of strategic investment opportunities, including the review of financial and market data in order to determine valuations of acquisition targets and financial benefits of artist, catalogue and new business deals
• Work with business units around the world in the preparation and review of deal memos and financial models before submission to senior management for approval
• Prepare deliverables and analysis for quarterly earnings reports and analysis for Sony Investor Relations and press inquiries
• Analyze competitive landscape, including market / market share and competitor financial results
• Proactively identify potential investment opportunities across music and media landscape consistent with overall strategic goals of the company
• Maintain deal tracker, including KPIs, and assessing actual performance against deal projections, & transaction comparable across SME and the wider market
• Assist with development of financial and valuation models / templates, as well as analyses to support base case assumptions
• Assist in annual budget and mid-range plan process by creating and maintaining long-term market projections in conjunction with NY-based FP&A and Global Digital Business teams
• Oversee ad hoc projects
Who you are:
• Financial modelling / analysis of potential new deals / acquisition targets / valuation methodologies and metrics
• 2 - 3 years' experience in investment banking or management consulting
• Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting from top school
• Music Experience
• Internal / External Audit Experience
• Strong analytical/technical skills
• Strong MS Office skills (including Excel to advanced level)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills
• Commercial awareness and consideration of industry developments
• Must be a team player
• Ability to use own initiative to drive forward projects
• Highly organized
• Works well to tight deadlines
• Rigorous eye for detail
