Full Time Job
The Senior Financial Analyst will manage all financial analysis and reporting associated with Sony Music’s physical business, the Global Finance Business Office team, and special projects. The role will act as the liaison with the US Labels and international affiliates in collecting, understanding and analyzing business requirements. The Senior Financial Analyst will report directly to the VP of Travel & Procurement.
Responsibilities
• Develop financial models through benchmarking and process analysis
• Analyze and report on current financial status, including preparation of cost projections
• Conduct thorough research of historical financial data
• Compare anticipated and actual results and identify areas of improvement
• Participate in budgeting (for departments and projects)
• Maintain and analyze reporting including P&L of the physical business metrics (both financial and operational) throughout all stages of the process and organization
• Assist in developing recommendations for potential physical business service model change and/or increased profitability plan for each affiliate
• Interact with multiple business units and international affiliates to collect missing information, clarify submissions and provide direction
Qualifications
• • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant operational/finance experience
• Bachelor degree; Master degree preferred; Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Statistics are preferred major fields
• Ability to pull together information from a wide variety of sources quickly; including ability to succinctly synthesize data, develop recommendations, and create and present materials
• Tech savvy including hands-on experience with financial and statistical software
• Strong analytical skills with advanced working knowledge of Excel, including modeling, macros and advanced functions
• Experience with SAP BFC or similar financial consolidation reporting system
• Demonstrable strategic thinking skills
• Experience collaborating with international colleagues
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
• Strong work ethic, pro-active, team player, deliverable focused and detail-oriented
• Highly organized, with the ability to handle simultaneous projects, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Solid presentation skills
