Sony Music's Global Digital Business Podcast Team is looking for a Senior Director to lead the finance and accounting functions of a growing division. SME's Podcast finance team supports the creative vision of our global podcasting division, operating in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Director will report into the leaders of the Global Podcast division and manage communications with creative members of the Podcast Team. They will manage a team of 6 finance staff across the US and UK. The ideal candidate is an experienced CPA or MBA with strong accounting and financial analytical skills, as they will be responsible for consolidating the financials and managing the Global P&L.
What you'll do:
• Partner with podcast leadership on strategic initiatives, deal valuation, budgeting and monthly forecasting
• Responsible for consolidation of financials across core teams worldwide
• Responsible for all aspects of financial monitoring, management and reporting of Sony podcast productions, including the effective management and development of policies, systems and processes
• Create ad hoc analyses to support key business decisions
• Identify cost/spend trends and provide timely project reporting
• Manage various ongoing operational aspects of the business, including profit participation, revenue share and show-level analysis and reporting
• Mentor and educate associates and finance team on various aspects of production finance and budgeting
Who you are:
• Seasoned accountant/finance professional with minimum 7 years of experience in production finance required
• In depth understanding of podcast industry accounting and financial practices
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrate strong analytical skills, work well under pressure
• Pragmatic, professional, highly organized and great attention to detail
• CPA/MBA preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, SAP, BPC
• Strong written and communication skills
