As Sr. Director, Fan Engagement, you will work with VP, Digital Marketing to drive and evolve company’s integrated digital strategy with a focus on fan engagement. Your role will spearhead the development of new fan initiatives company-wide and you will play a key role in creating and implementing digital marketing and revenue-generating campaigns for Sony’s roster of country music artists. Your role exists to build long-term and evolving fan engagement strategies that align with our business and artists’ long term goals. You will be charged with finding new, innovative and influential digital media partners to generate business and effective collaboration of behalf of our roster.
What you'll do:
• Report on trends and new areas of engagement via digital partnerships as well as evaluate, determine and report on agencies/platforms to work with to increase fan engagement
• Build long term, and evolving, fan engagement strategy to align with long term planning & spend
• Support full roster / digital leads with larger fan engagement opportunities
• Create, develop and execute innovative digital marketing campaigns to reach target audiences across the web and social media on behalf of assigned artist roster
• Grow and engage social network communities (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube Community, etc.), track and analyze social media data and consumer marketing results
• Implement new technologies and marketing tactics geared to maximize music streaming and consumption
• Develop websites, content (video, audio, graphic, text), and posting strategies for web, social and mobile
• Evaluate new technology partners (e.g. TikTok, Genius, BandsInTown, etc.), identify consumer trends and develop new models of digital fan engagement
• Drive CRM strategy label-wide, including Sony Nashville newsletter and assigned artist roster; employ consumer data segmentation, targeting, testing and technical integration to optimize digital marketing initiatives
• Conceptualize contests and sweeps, including set-up of online forms and drafting of rules with legal department
• Strategize, execute and manage lifestyle partnerships and influencer marketing campaigns
• Work with key internal label teams to develop special technology projects, leveraging available data, platforms, and other resources to deliver improved results and innovative campaigns, while adhering to best practices
• Work closely with key internal label teams, artists, and management throughout the project life cycle to communicate about new products, technologies, strategies, social communities and available digital opportunities
Who you are:
• A contributor with a minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing with proven success developing innovative, creative campaigns, preferably in a creative industry (music, television, entertainment, etc.)
• A detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and communication skills (written, verbal and editing skills) with internal and external parties
• A connector with developed credibility and trust through drawing people, ideas, and opportunities together and a drive for accuracy and agile decision making
• A data savvy thinker with extensive, hands-on experience managing social media platforms, building social communities and using mobile marketing strategies and technology systems (SMS, surveys, etc.)
• A strong grasp of CRM/e-mail newsletter platforms (e.g. Salesforce, MailChimp, etc.)
• An experienced marketer with a broad understanding of e-commerce, D2C and music/ticket bundling, music streaming business and their relevant digital platforms and experience capturing content with mobile devices and strong graphic design skills with proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and video editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro)
• An innovative, critical thinker with the ability to interpret, dissect, communicate, and predict data’s impact on the future who demonstrates a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercises discretion in handling sensitive artist information
• A trustworthy professional with experience working in a collaborative space as well as leading, influencing, and delegating while executing under stressful and demanding situations
• A music afficionado with passion for digital innovation and an ability to apply relevant technology / trends to music marketing
• A willingness to work extended hours including nights and weekends
