Manager, Rights Management (Conflicts)
As a Manager on the Rights Management team, you will oversee the resolution of rights conflicts for The Orchard's audio and video catalog on various platforms, while adhering to strict project deadlines. You will also aid in the development of new projects and processes to proactively free up revenue for our clients, and will be responsible for frequently communicating with stakeholders internally and externally, including label management, 3rd party rights holders, and platform contacts.
Responsibilities
• Research and resolve rights-related issues, such as ownership conflicts and disputes, at neighboring rights collection societies and fingerprinting platforms.
• Build relationships with neighboring rights collection societies and 3rd party rights holders, communicating clearly and frequently to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
• Work internally with other departments to identify, report on, and resolve issues, while providing an extraordinary level of support for our clients.
• Maintain excellent knowledge of internal and external proprietary platform technology and the processes that pertain to them, with the ability to quickly learn new platforms and processes as needed.
• Organize and maintain large sets of data, including project tracking and historical conflict resolution databases.
• Work closely with the Associate Director of the Rights Management team, proactively escalating issues, communicating roadblocks, and providing insights on people and processes.
Qualifications
• 3 years of work experience in the music or entertainment industry, preferably with an emphasis on customer support and data entry; familiarity with the various rights associated with music content.
• Experience working with large, complex data sets in a variety of formats, particularly music metadata.
• Proficiency in Google, Apple, and Microsoft applications, particularly Excel; knowledge of SQL is a plus.
• Experience working in a society portal or CMS, such as SoundExchange Direct or YouTube CMS.
• Outstanding written/verbal/interpersonal communication skills; exceptional follow-up and follow-through capabilities.
• Well-organized, impeccably accurate and detail-oriented, while able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize appropriately.
