As the Manager, Catalog Marketing, you will report to the Head of Catalog and work closely with the Manager, Catalog Audience Development. You will be directly responsible for developing strategies for key projects & artists based on insights. The goal for this role, is to help our artists connect better with their audiences across the globe, with special focus on dynamic expansion of Sony Music Latin (SML) catalog. She/he will play critical role in maximizing the success of our releases by leading the process of goal setting & performance tracking, spearheading cross-functional efforts for priority releases and recommending necessary interventions especially on early stages.
What you'll do:
• Influence incremental catalog streaming consumption for both young and heritage artists’ catalog through the development of marketing campaigns centered around dynamic artist content, robust advertising campaigns, artist channel visibility & optimization and earned digital partnerships
• Manage reporting, marketing budgets and analytics to measure effectiveness of campaigns and make informed recommendations
• Work alongside sales team to maximize account support around tentpole moments.
• Test, assess and update best practices to maximize consumption, artist integrity and fan engagement
• Identify new opportunities to reach audiences through tech, media partners, digital advertising, etc.
Who you are:
• Deep passion and knowledge of music, artists & technology and a strong understanding of how & where fans engage with songs, albums, playlists, and artists.
• 3-5 years recent experience in entertainment business, preferably, working with latin music genres.
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Market Research, Analytics, Business Administration, Music or related discipline, from an accredited university is required, Masters/MBA preferred.
• Collaborative personality who is comfortable with change and has a contagious hunger to learn & experiment.
• Exceptional people connection skills as well as the ability to inspire, prioritize, multitask, focus, lead, influence, and delegate while working under stressful and demanding situations.
• Ability to think independently and create and develop ideas that lead to positive change and improvements.
• Knowledgeable about the Latin music industry in the USA – familiarity with US Gen Market a plus!
• Fluency in English & Spanish required (verbal/written).
• Understanding of Streaming platforms including: Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, SoundCloud, Deezer, Pandora, etc.
• Successful track record of working with digital sales/accounts, developing artist, managing track/album releases.
• Well organized with exceptionally strong communications skills that are adaptable to different personality styles and situations.
