Overview
We need you to bring your vision and passion to a team dedicated to reimagining music through immersive media. The Lead Environment Artist will play a key role in leading a team developing 3D environments and assets for immersive music experiences.
Responsibilities
• Manage environment art team in designing and defining the visual aesthetic and goals for 3D environments.
• Provide oversight and direction for budgets, schedules and milestones for content production.
• Lead the creative vision and implementation of 3D environment art through all phases of production.
• Cultivate cross-functional relationships to provide insight and direction around environment art strategy and management.
• Create, optimize and manage pipeline for environment art workflow.
• Create and optimize high quality 3D assets and textures that match technical and artistic requirements.
• Develop and promote a culture of high performance with an obsessive commitment to quality.
• True team player who can work in a diplomatic and level headed manner throughout the organization.
• Coordinate with art outsourcing team as needed.
• Manage deliverables to ensure tasks are on time, and at the highest quality bar.
Qualifications
• 7 years of professional environment art design/development experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in leading and managing teams for 3D environment art.
• Expert experience with current 3D tools such as 3DS Max, Maya, Blender or equivalent.
• Expert experience with texture creation/authoring tools such as Substance.
• Advanced understanding of lighting, shading and composition.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Minimum 2 shipped AAA game titles.
• Strong artistic and aesthetic skills, principles, POV and art fundamentals.
• Virtual reality and frame rate optimization experience.
• Advanced to expert knowledge of Unreal Engine 4, Blueprint system and text-based scripting languages.
• Passion for building fun, intuitive and interactive environments.
• Self-motivated with drive for excellence.
• Excellent written, verbal and team communication skills.
