The Head of Production for the US is a new role and the successful candidate will be expected to lead on production team liaison and the delivery of the operational elements of events for CCL/PIE and Sony Music. They will oversee the successful delivery of our site-specific projects, ensuring that best practice and our high-quality production values are maintained across all events.
What you'll do:
• Strategic planning alongside the Directors
• Managing event production teams internal and external to the business
• Ensuring processes are in place to facilitate smooth production management
• Representing CCL at a senior level
• Excellent communication with all partners
• Strategic planning at event level
• Management of online project management systems
• Be the lead for CCL in production management with venue partners to ensure the successful operational delivery of events
• Identify, recruit and manage freelance and additional resource for delivery of production, creating core skill documents for the key roles on sites and ensuring skill mix aids operational delivery
• Maintain quality control over all production delivery output from the team
• Ensure on-time delivery of relevant event production information for key milestones
• Review management plans and communicate across all functions within the team
• Be familiar with all portfolio financial targets and responsible for management of production budgets for each site, reviewing budgets and budget setting each year alongside the Director and International Producer
• Set, monitor and ensure we deliver, events that are of the quality expected by our partners and venues
• Set and improve standards for production management, develop feedback strategies with venue teams and implement improvement plans for operational delivery
• Line manage US/Canadian teams of production managers, monitor action/work plans to help venue teams achieve targets worldwide
• Develop and maintain other key contacts, through a production database, that are required in the delivery of event production maintaining relationships and managing contracts of main multi site suppliers
• Develop working practices that allow for cross venue efficiencies and the sharing of best practice between venues and events
• Work alongside the Event Operations Producer US in the detail of event delivery
• Scope and review major infrastructure plans for each site alongside site teams including power, lighting (alongside Lighting Producer), audio and site management resources
• Create and produce the 'Production Handbook' - setting out the production values of the company, maintaining quality and for use as a training manual for new production teams worldwide
• Develop and maintain methodologies for implementation of all production due diligence from production management plans to all appropriate certification, ensuring the companies compliance at all times
• Work with content, event management and production teams to input into the wind and bad weather policy ensuring that engineering and technical production maintains safe installations
• Lead on production advancing of major events for the group alongside site teams where they exist
• Review templates for and receive and review when complete, Production Management Plans, risk management and engineering plans for event sites
• To support the Senior International Producer (SIP) in establishing a country specific vendor and local rates matrix for each state, either in development or in consideration
• To attend venue recces for established and developing sites as required
• To develop and build site specific production budgets with the Director and SIP for each new territory
• To develop and build a freelancer orientation document with the SIP and core CCL team
• To develop and build CCL risk register templates for each new venue with the SIP and core CCL
• To establish new contacts with statewide logistics vendors for current and future venues with the SIP
• Oversee site production budgets with the state venue AP's
• Oversee logistics for each site with the local PM's and core CCL team
• Raise any oversite issues to the SIP and core CCL team as they occur and record in the project risk management log
• Manage the recruitment and onboarding of local Production Management Teams with the SIP and territory specific production managers and then their ongoing day to day management.
• Develop strong working relationships with site key stakeholders to include internal and external customers with the SIP
Who you are:
• Experience of successfully production management within large-scale events within a fast-paced commercial company or cultural organization
• Be able to work with multiple partners simultaneously across the world
• Have a working knowledge of the heritage sector, and a good understanding of the sensitivities around putting on commercial events in this environment
• Management of Operations Budgets
• Planning and advancing of shows remotely.
• Experience of touring and working with local vendors
• Producing operational schedules
• Liaison with suppliers and venues
• Management of third party suppliers and contractors
• Experience of working with visual artists and artistic installations
• Current Driving Licence and own mode of transport
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience of running events in heritage and landscape settings
• An in-depth understanding of the sensitivities of working in areas of outstanding natural beauty and in listed venues
• A proven track record in event production and management, with an understanding of commercial events
• The ability to lead and motivate a team to deliver consistently high-quality work
• A pro-active approach to new venue opportunities and creating new teams
• Significant industry experience
• Impressive communication skills and an enthusiastic approach to liaising with clients
• Experience of working internationally
• Experience of working on large-scale outdoor events

• The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $145K to $145K. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job
