Full Time Job
Candidate will be responsible for overseeing Sony Music Entertainment’s (SME) newsroom including developing, managing and maintaining content for the company’s intranet and external websites.
Responsibilities
• Develop strategic editorial calendars and strategic content plans to highlight SME’s key initiatives and activities to a variety of audiences internally and externally
• Develop, execute, and deliver engaging, storytelling editorial content to connect with employees, partners and key stakeholders
• Project manage and execute creative content plans, coordinating with many people in different territories
• Create content across multiple platforms and topics on a daily basis, sourcing from, and liaising with, all SME departments, record labels, and territories to gather appropriate information that highlights news and activities occurring across the company in alignment with SME’s vision and strategy
• Serve as an expert in content optimization and brand consistency to ensure engagement and a positive experience for audiences
• Serve as editorial gatekeeper for all editorial content to ensure quality, clarity, creativity, authenticity, and consistency
• Contribute to the creation of style guides and editorial guidelines and procedures as part of the content strategy
• Assess digital metrics and making improvements accordingly, optimize content according to SEO
• Remain updated on trends and adjusts the content strategy as needed
• Engage with business units regularly to establish which aspects of their department or label they wish to highlight via SME platforms
• Review existing content and other site information to ensure content is fresh, timely, and accurate
• Interact regularly with employees – conducting surveys, etc. – to continuously ensure that the most valuable content is easily accessible on the intranet for employees, and that it meets a variety of needs
Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in an editorial content role, with a portfolio of work to show productions of self-developed content
• Bachelor degree in Journalism, Marketing or relevant field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Superior writing skills and creative content development
• High level of visual/design sensibilities
• Excellent knowledge of digital best practices, the culture and language of the web, including SEO
• Strong expertise in content strategy and able to lead editorial content campaigns
• Creative minded and a fresh style of writing from a reader’s perspective
• Strong Google Analytics, WordPress (or other CMS) and Adobe Acrobat/Illustrator skills
• Strong proficiency with MS Office, SharePoint and WordPress
• Basic technical knowledge of HTML and web publishing
• Design sensibility and experience with Photoshop
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail
• Experience with media and entertainment preferred
