As the Director of Commercial Partnerships – Physical Retail:
What you'll do:
• Lead day-to-day communication with key physical retail partners including but not limited to Alliance, Target, Barnes & Noble & Walmart, forh both frontline new releases and always-on catalog campaigns across Sony labels.
• Pitch and manage physical retail campaigns by building vendor partnerships, setting up products, execute customized retail plans, and proactively track performance for post project analysis.
• Develop and implement customized strategies and products for each artist and their respective fanbases to grow their physical retail businesses at relevant partners
• Identify new product areas and revenue opportunities within the market and provide thought leadership on creative artist offerings.
• Manage submission processes across Big Box retailers to secure digital ads, rebates and more.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with central and label marketing teams to deliver compelling new personalized customer journeys
• Liaise with Operations team and supply chain to ensure product orders, logistics and fulfillment are meeting the needs of the partner and label
• Develop, implement and maintain effective and scalable processes optimizing for efficiency working across all top Sony physical releases.
• Communicate clearly on perimeters around campaigns and timelines for planning.
• Proactively problem solve to deliver solutions for artists on time and on budget.
• Work with analytics team to manage projections for physical goods.
• Work with internal digital and media buying teams to coordinate campaigns to effectively promote physical campaigns.
• You will analyze and determine solutions for operational issues and gaps, supporting and improving the day-to-day account management model.
Who you are:
• Have at least 6 years of experience in music industry in physical retail role.
• Experienced with physical retailers, including big box, brick and non-traditional outlets.
• Must have a customer service mindset; experience in client or central services is a major plus
• Exceptional communicator with a desire to improve processes and positively impact the organization.
• Enthusiastic, self-motivated and flexible
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, nuanced environment
• Experience and understanding of inventory assessment
• Flexible; This includes ability to travel, multi-task on complex projects, work outside of standard work hours (late nights, weekends, etc.)
• Comfortable taking direction from multiple Commercial leaders
• Passionate about physical music goods and reaching artists’ fan bases.
