Responsibilities
• Identify and pursue licensing opportunities across multiple product categories while representing a roster of iconic musical artists
• Help to develop and execute a multi targeted licensing strategy to maximize revenue and artist exposure
• Work with licensing team on roll-out and maintenance of Media Box licensing system
• Build strong relationships with artist management and licensees
• Analyze current business and licenses to assess potential opportunities for brand extensions
• Negotiate license agreements.
• Communicate with artist management, Finance department and Business Affairs department to ensure proper contractual terms
• Manage a large portfolio of licensees across broad categories
• Follow-up to ensure licensees adhere to all contractual obligations
• Help with implementation and management of International licensing Agents
• Organize and Archive all licensing materials and provide to sales team and agents
• Assist with Licensing Expo Exhibit event coordination
• Help maintain active licensee lists and current agreement term summary for all IP's
• Liaise with Sony Music International offices on their licensing requests and merchandising initiatives for Thread Shop artists
Qualifications
• 5 – 10 years of key account experience in the entertainment, retail or consumer packaged goods industry
• Bachelor degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Thorough understanding of current trends in the music and merchandising marketplace
• Strong, established relationships with the licensee community
• Proven ability to formulate and analyze data to maximize opportunities and establish solid business plans
• Prior negotiating experience and strong interpersonal selling skills
• Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, communication, and time management skills as well as the ability to prioritize, multitask, and focus while working in a fast-paced environment
• Must be an enthusiastic team player comfortable working in a collaborative environment with the ability to work across multiple departments to find workable solutions
• A passion for the music business and a comprehensive understanding of the media industry, trends and issues; ability to find opportunities for new partnerships and cross-promotional engagements
• Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Knowledge of Media Box licensing system
• Travel required
