This is a Full Time Job
The Director, Insights Reporting will be a key part of the Central Analytics & Reporting team that provides critical analyses information about consumption release performance to colleagues across US Commercial Partnerships, Global Digital Business and each of Sony Music's US labels. This role will follow a modified work schedule of Thursday-Monday of each week, and will work closely with other members of the team to provide data technical expertise. This is a great opportunity to help shape the evolution of a critical part of the business, impacting all levels of strategic decision making.
What you'll do:
• Lead the on-going production of cross-label daily and weekly reports, tools and dashboards provided to the US labels while implementing efficiency gaining enhancements and ever evolving improvements
• Manage the daily new release tracking reports to ensure accuracy, data integrity and timeliness of both priority and regular releases
• Continually monitor and analyze label and competitive market share shifts, understand driving forces behind changes, and identify opportunities to grow share and revenues
• Evolve streaming/sales projection models and deeper analyses on consumption impact by adapting to ever changing industry partners, data changes shifting behavior patterns
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all tools reports, interacting with IT and other relevant teams to resolve any issues or gaps
• Mentor & support analytics team members in executing various analyses reports across SME labels, SME artists competitive releases
Who you are:
• Ability to follow an alternative full-time work schedule of Thursday-Monday each week; Hybrid approach of in-office and remote weekend work
• Minimum 7 years of experience working with data
• Expertise working with relational databases and writing complex SQL
• Extensive experience with Alteryx
• Experience with Python, JavaScript or other analytical programming languages
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills â€'' ability to identify trends in large datasets, display creativity in problem-solving, and generate new ideas
• Strong ability to communicate insights to label executives and key stakeholders â€'' orally, in writing, and in presentations
• Possess a “customer service†mentality to ensure the needs of labels and senior management are met in a timely and satisfactory manner
• Music industry experience preferred with an understanding of how the music business operates and the evolving streaming landscape
• Passion for music and desire to build a career in the industry

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $135,000 to $165,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
