Director, Head of A&R (Atlanta) - Human Re Sources
The Human Re Sources team has an immediate opening for a Director, Head of A&R (Atlanta) - Human Re Sources.
What you'll do
• Oversee the recording, production, mastering, and sequencing of artist projects locally
• Manage and develop a local team
• Review and recommend submitted/solicited demos as well as online material via artist/band websites and social networking sites and provide comprehensive feedback to executive management.
• Plan and monitor agreed upon recording budgets for assigned projects keeping the budget and schedule/timeline.
• Analyze and evaluate complex deal proposals for new artists, label deals and renegotiations; profitability, internal rates of return, net present values, returns on sales, recoupment, etc.
• Find suitable producers, writers/co-writers, sound engineers and recording studios.
• Manage high level client and account relationships across the local industry and heighten market presence and brand awareness
• Strategize on priority release campaign logistics from inception to analysis, working with other internal departments as necessary.
• Drive further cooperation in Atlanta and surrounding regions
• Provide local market insights and build and execute strategy in conjunction with senior management
• Elevate the company’s local profile and overall revenue within the current client and retail base, and act as primary conduit for new business opportunities to drive the business
• Attend local shows and industry showcases and report back to Los Angeles team
• Liaise with various internal departments, from finance and marketing to legal and management, to ensure all client and retail partner business needs are met.
• Develop and maintain relationships with industry insiders (managers, agents, attorneys, concert promoters, radio promo reps, retail contacts, trade and consumer press, tastemakers, etc).
Who you are
• 7 years of music industry experience, with a demonstrated track record of finding new and emerging artists that fit in with the label's musical offerings/musical direction.
• Experience with the various steps in the recording, production, mastering, sequencing and release of a record required.
• Strong knowledge of various genres of music and the ability to separate/identify the commercially viable from the pack.
• Highly advanced organizational skills with the ability to multitask and priorities to tight deadlines.
• Strong communicator with exceptional attention to detail
• Experience reading and interpreting contracts as well as knowledge of audio files (multitrack, stems, mix passes) and recording systems
• Passionate about Independent music, with a willingness to attend industry events and shows.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required and able to travel internationally.
