Coordinator, Rights Management (Auditing)
We are looking for a Coordinator, Rights Management to join our dynamic East Village (NYC) office.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Rights Management, the full-time Coordinator will be responsible for performing a variety of projects pertaining to claiming and monetization on fingerprinting platforms and at performing rights societies, such as YouTube, Facebook, & SoundExchange. As a Coordinator on the Rights Management team, you will:
• Proactively review, update, and audit The Orchard’s catalog within content management systems and internal proprietary tools with a high level of detail and efficiency
• Work closely with team members and management, communicating issues and roadblocks pertaining to department projects and procedures
• Review, update and audit content maintained in YouTube’s CMS with a high level of detail, speed, and accuracy -- all based on strict deadlines
• Work closely with team members and other departments to effectively communicate project results and explain necessary action items, while providing an extraordinary level of support internally, and for clients and rightsholders
• Efficiently work within The Orchard’s internal systems, YouTube’s CMS, YouTube.com, and SoundExchange.com in order to optimize revenue-earning processes and foster the growth of our clients’ content
• Basic comfort level and understanding of YouTube’s CMS, and the delivery and management processes that go along with it (e.g. Content ID system, weekly fingerprint/delivery cycle, ingestion queue)
• Provide clear and concise comments/notes in various internal tools
• Consistently meet and/or exceed performance objectives and deadlines
Qualifications
• College degree preferred
• 1-2 years of work experience in data, entertainment, or legal fields
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Docs
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; impeccable follow-up and follow-through capabilities
• Well-organized and attentive to detail
• Love of research, an innate sense of curiosity, and the desire to learn
• Discerning eye and ear for audio and visual content
• Basic knowledge of copyright and current popular music landscape
• Comfort in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and able to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
Bonus Points
• Experience working in a CMS, such as YouTube, SoundCloud, or Facebook
• Prior experience working with neighboring rights or music licensing
• Specialized knowledge of global independent music or niche genres
