Under the direction of the SVP of A&R, the A&R Coordinator will play a key role in the maximization of the effectiveness and efficiency of the A&R team by providing general administrative support to SVP and A&R specific project coordination. This person will coordinate the internal organization and distribution of digital music, give input on new artists and help maintain publisher and writer relations with the music publishing community.
What you'll do:
• Provide administrative support to the SVP, A&R by maintaining a calendar, scheduling meetings, updating and maintaining contacts, generating and distributing reports, processing invoices and expense reports, and arranging complex and detailed travel plans and itineraries.
• Regularly meet with the A&R staff to provide status updates (providing agendas, weekly charts, event/show calendar, A&R recording timeline updates) as well as take and share detailed notes.
• Support the internal organization and distribution of digital music and videos for the A&R staff by maintaining server info, organizing new masters, mixes, roughs and artist demo compilations as needed, converting WAV formatted songs to MP3s, and aid servicing of music to internal partners using the watermark audio systems.
• Create Sony Music Nashville (SMN) Tip Sheet for the publishing community, maintain a master list of song holds and mp3 songs, and send artist pass letters.
• Book unsigned artist showcases in coordination with A&R administration staff and serve as the primary contact with the artist and artist manager.
• Proactively anticipate the needs of the A&R staff by foreseeing problems and preventing them by taking action and making recommendations related to schedules, communications, travel, and systems.
• Attend live performances at clubs, showcases, concerts, writer's rounds, and other venues as needed and maintain files/records on all shows attended.
Who you are:
• A self-starter with least one year of administrative experience in a music, lifestyle, entertainment, or creative industry
• A team player with demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining relationships, interacting with recording artists, and/or collaborating with publishers and songwriters
• A detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and communication skills and proficiency in MS Office applications
• An initiator with a drive for accuracy, time management, and task prioritization
• A trustworthy professional demonstrating a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion in handling sensitive artist information
• A music afficionado with a strong knowledge of various genres of music with an emphasis on the country format, the ability to identify commercially viable sounds, and the availability to attend evening showcases (routinely, upon request)
