Sony Music Entertainment’s (SME) Content Protection department is seeking a Specialist to actively support and assist with the development and execution of SME’s global content protection initiatives and to enforce SME's copyrights worldwide. This position will play a vital role in SME’s efforts to combat intellectual property theft and expand SME’s content protection capabilities globally.
SME's Content Protection department provides support to SME’s labels (including RCA Records, Epic Records, and Columbia Records) and business units (including Business & Legal Affairs, Global Industry & Government Relations, Law, and Partner Development). The environment is fast-paced and allows for opportunities to work on diverse subject matters.

Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain strategies for protecting SME’s copyrights worldwide
• Implement measures to monitor and prevent abuse and fraudulent activities occurring on licensed platforms
• Resolve copyright disputes including user disputes, counter-claims, and ownership conflicts
• Assist SME’s corporate labels with pre-release security, investigations, and takedown requests
• Administer training and communicate tasks and project requirements to third-party vendors
• Work closely with engineering teams to develop systems and tools used to support SME’s monetization and content protection efforts
• Measure and report on the efficacy of SME’s content protection initiatives
• Evaluate and compare the efficacy of industry-leading content identification and content management solutions
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 2-3 years’ experience working in content protection or intellectual property related fields
• Familiarity with User Generated Content (UGC) platforms and content management systems
• Prior experience in resolving copyright disputes is a plus
• Excellent analytical and communication skills (written and oral)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
