This is a Full Time Job
As an associate editor , you will take charge in editing scripts and helping producers shape their podcast episodes. You will help outline limited run series, do structural edits and line edits, sit in on table reads and offer constructive criticism. This position requires being able to juggle more than one podcast in your head. At first, you will be working with oversight from the Executive Editor , but you will commit yourself to becoming more and more independent, working towards being able to edit a limited-run podcast on your own.
What you'll do:
• Help to shape the structure and format of episodes
• Edit scripts for clarity, storytelling, reporting and NHM editorial standards
• Must have a capacity for juggling and desire to work on more than one show (with oversight from the Executive Editor.)
• Provide logistical and editorial consultation to producers on show development
• Listen to & provide detailed editorial feedback on show mixes
• Attend table reads for a variety of Neon Hum shows as ''fresh ears'' and give constructive feedback.
• Bring creativity and rigor to thinking through podcast episodes.
Who you are:
• Production: 1-2 years (Preferred)
• Bachelors (Preferred)
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older
• A true love of podcasts
• Equally creative and analytical, with exceptional communication skills
