Overview
The Associate Director, Contract Administration reports to the Vice President, Business Affairs Operations and is responsible for overseeing the Digital Rights Administration (DRA) clearance process for U.S. labels and managing reversions for all masters owned or licensed by the U.S. Company. In addition, the Associate Director supervises the contract summary staff and handles special projects as needed.
Responsibilities
• Manage digital clearances in the DRA digital rights system for all products released digitally by our US labels (including Arista, CMG, Columbia, Epic, Masterworks, Nashville, RCA, SME US and US Latin).
• Work with other Sony Rep Owners to verify digital rights and update DRA accordingly.
• Enter reversion status of master recordings in the reversion database and Distribute reversion notices as masters revert for all US Labels.
• Prepare and distribute the annual Reversion Report; answer questions from affiliates regarding reversion status.
• Supervise two managers in preparing contract summaries within the Carma contract rights system.
• Oversee contract scanning initiative.
• Create ad hoc reports from BLA databases upon request.
• Work with IS&T to design enhancements and resolve bugs within the Carma and DRA rights management systems.
Qualifications
• Bachelor degree; MBA or JD strongly preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
• Strong data management and computer skills, including extensive knowledge and comfort with Microsoft Suite applications (i.e., Excel, Word, Access)
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail oriented, organized, timely and accurate
• Previous legal experience a plus
