Sony Music Entertainment’s (SME) Content Protection department is seeking an Analyst to actively support and assist with the development and execution of SME’s global content protection initiatives and to enforce SME's copyrights worldwide. This position will play a vital role in SME’s efforts to combat intellectual property theft and expand SME’s content protection capabilities globally.
SME's Content Protection department provides support to SME’s labels (including RCA Records, Epic Records, and Columbia Records) and business units (including Business & Legal Affairs, Global Industry & Government Relations, Law, and Partner Development). The environment is fast-paced and allows for opportunities to work on diverse subject matters.
Responsibilities
At the direction of the Vice President of Content Protection, the Analyst will be responsible for the daily management and performance of the following tasks:
• Conduct security assessments and technical audits to identify and remediate potential security vulnerabilities relating to existing and prospective partner platforms
• Collaborate with Business & Legal Affairs to implement policies to remediate abuses and exploits relating to ad-supported and subscription music streaming services
• Assist in the creation, adoption, and deployment of industry best practices and common security guidelines
• Assist with the analysis and implementation of third-party technologies including automated content recognition (ACR) solutions used in connection with SME’s takedown and monetization efforts
• Evaluate propriety and third-party technologies including watermarking services, and end-to-end secure delivery tools to secure the delivery of SME content to, from, and within SME
• Support SME’s Content Protection, Business & Legal Affairs, and Legal departments with online investigations and forensic data collection
• Analyze and identify opportunities to employ algorithmic, machine, and deep learning approaches to improve and automate workflows
• Coordinate and communicate with industry trade organizations to develop and execute online anti-piracy programs
• Routinely update appropriate stakeholders on Content Protection matters
Qualifications
• Must possess Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science or similar from an accredited institution
• Certified Information Systems Security Professionals (CISSP) or equivalent certification preferred
• Experience with information security, internal and external audits, risk management, and third-party risk assessments
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in software development role
• Knowledge and proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages (Java, C , Python, and Swift)
• Knowledge and proficiency in client and server-side web scripting/programming languages (PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL)
• Familiarity with encryption standards and methods
• Must display strong analytical, research, and writing skills
• Must demonstrate ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under minimal supervision
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
