Full Time Job
The A&R Admin Analyst reports to the Associate Director of A&R Admin, Masterworks. This position will liaise with the various departments within the Sony Music Masterworks Worldwide Division and Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inter-Company Accounting, Release Planning, Royalties and Copyrights departments as well as Label Artists, their management and recording studios.
What you'll do:
• Communicate with A&R, Business & Legal Affairs, Finance, Marketing, Royalties, Joint Venture Accounting, and Copyright to properly administer artist contracts, licenses and deals
• Includes administering A&R related budgets and reviewing artist agreements to assess and enforce contractual obligations with respect to recording
• Assisting with creation of Royalty accounts, as well as Copyright and Joint Venture issues
• Liaising with Release Planning to ensure proper subproject code setups
• Communicate with artist attorneys and managers about contractual issues, vendors, proper payments, tax information
• Assist in handling the ''day-to-day'':
• Administration of artist recording projects
• Creation of recording and marketing budgets (and within the marketing budgets, distinguish between recoupable and non-Recoupable marketing costs to ensure proper royalty statement rendering)
• Issuance of purchase orders for co-op
• Prompt payment of invoices (recording, mastering, advances, overhead, etc.)
• Reconciliation of BTA card
• Tracking projects to ensure proper payment and budgeting
Who you are:
• College Degree
• Be detail oriented, ability to analyze data and troubleshoot effectively
• Proven computer skills including Excel (including pivot tables, creating and running queries), Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Review and understand legal contracts and be comfortable upholding legal standards
• Work well and communicate promptly with different types of people
• Have solid communication, organizational, communication, and follow up skills
• Be able to work independently, multitask, and manage evolving priorities
