Sony Imageworks Vancouver is seeking a Stereo Supervisor!
Manages creation of stereoscopic approach and parameters for the production. Serves as creative and technical lead for the function and manages work of stereoscopic technical directors. Ensures cohesive and integrated stereo layout of story sequences; development of stereoscopic approach to each shot; creation of camera pairs (or ''stereo rigs'') and related assigned asset groups. Shepherds shots through stereo pipeline from initial stereo layout through compositing and shot finishing. Accountable for on time, on budget execution and delivery, as well as quality, of required stereoscopic shot work.
SCOPE: Production/artistic/technical leader responsible for a major function in the production pipeline and/or a set of assigned sequences. Shares accountability with senior leadership for assigned production outcomes. May manage a department that supports multiple productions. Accountable for the deliverables of the department.
CREATIVE/TECHNICAL DIRECTION: Translates art/technical direction for the production into art/technical direction for the sequence. Reviews and adjusts assigned art/technical content to meet creative direction. Manages research and development activities required to achieve the Director's vision.
ROLE IN STRATEGY/PLANNING: Ensures function supervised has sufficient technical, capital and human resources, as well as guidelines for art/technologies to meet goals. Participates in developing short-to mid-term operating plans for assigned function including resource requirements, budgets, schedules and performance standards.
NEGOTIATIONS/INTERACTIONS: Interacts with senior production leadership to understand and clarify creative direction and keep abreast of plans impacting assigned sequences. Interacts with direct reports and peers to interpret information and improve cross-functional processes. Negotiates for resources that affect assigned outcomes. Builds and enhances important internal and external contacts.
ASSIGNMENT OF WORK: Manages the work of leads and individual contributors. Ensures the ongoing training and development of direct reports. Selects, motivates and reviews performance of staff.
OVERSIGHT RECEIVED: Work is reviewed relative to creative/technical goals and production milestones.
EXPERIENCE: Typically has 10 or more years of experience with 5 or more years of management experience.
