The Candidate
• You must be a team player, and an ideas person and creative, who is happy to contribute to our non-profit organization on a part-time voluntary basis.
• We are looking for someone who is very proficient with communications, promotions/PR and community social network sites; who wants to be part of a growing community;
• who has great ideas and concepts on how we can develop our promotional efforts to maximize opportunities and communication amongst our membership base and the broader community.
• Be great at Microsoft Excel, working on the Internet, online databases/email lists, google/gmail, and task/time management. We will train you on our communications vehicles and how to use our mailing list.
• Be able to communicate with our members, chapter coordinators, and doing basic database tasks.
• You need to want to be part of a growing non-profit 501 c)3) organization, and that means thinking outside the box, nurturing our songwriters community, and understanding committees.
• Be an awesome communicator, who speaks with caring and nurturing (just what our members need), but also savvy about the music business, songwriting resources and what Songsalive! is about.
• Be interested in a long term commitment.
• This is a twice a week volunteer position (approximately 10 hours a week), as well as opportunities to travel, get full Songsalive! membership benefits and a few cool things, if it works out that you are the right person.
• No short termers please. Minimum one (1) year involvement, with the ability to replace yourself (and train someone) if you do move on.
• There must also be no conflict of interest with your own personal or business agendas, and ALL our work, development is confidential and must not be shared outside our organization. You will be signing a non-disclosure agreement and coordinator Agreement of work, if you decide to work with us.
As this is a volunteer part time position, we are open to people who might want to try communications/pr as a new opportunity to build their resume (ie we are not looking for people with 20 years experience/expertise, but that would be cool too!)
If you want to participate and contribute in a global family of creative people, we would LOVE to hear from you.
