Solve is looking for a highly motivated Staff Writer to join our team in Venice Beach, California
What is Solve?
Solve is an interactive murder mystery show that publishes weekly on Snapchat. You can check out some of our work by searching for ''Solve'' on Snapchat.
What we're looking for?
We're looking for someone with a screenwriting and/or game writing background who loves all things true crime / murder mystery and is great at coming up with clever ways to solve murders.
What you'll have:
The structure of the show is that each episode is a different 5-10 minute fictionalized story based on a true crime with interactive gaming mechanics baked into it. The viewer has to guess at the end of the episode who they think did the crime.
You must live in or be willing to re-locate to Los Angeles.
Our audience skews between 13-25 years old so understanding game play as well as what a younger audience would find compelling is essential.
Experience in production is a plus as you'll be working directly with directors, producers, art department, etc.
Previous knowledge of Snapchat and/or mobile gaming is also a huge bonus as the format differs greatly from a typical television show or movie.
Solve plays in a variety of genres so having a deep knowledge and love of film / TV in all its incarnations is essential.
Tasks include:
Writing scripts in a fast-paced environment
Come up with interesting ways to solve murders
Coming up with new interactive game mechanics
Managing content via Trello
Copy editing
Researching true crimes
Location scouts
Meeting with various departments across the production team
Please submit a resume, cover letter and writing samples along with any links that showcase your skills.
If we like your stuff, we'll reach out with a writing prompt to see if you're a good fit.
