Overview: Smosh seeks an experienced, resourceful and creative-minded Technical Producer to help setup and launch a new Twitch channel, streaming 25+ hours of content per week. The candidate we seek is an experienced live stream technician with a creative and problem-solving mindset, setting up a wide array of technical gaming productions and running the day-to-day of the Twitch channel. Candidate should be well versed in the Twitch community and ecosystem. Exceptional candidates will have experience creating both competitive and casual gaming content and a history of live production capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Support Twitch Producer with launch of new Smosh Twitch channel from conception through production, aligning with Smosh business objectives and creative goals throughout the process
Collaborate with Producer, VP and Director of Unscripted to create and perfect the streaming process, while continuously devising new workflows to help scale and look for ways to improve processes and increase quality of output
Work with Social team to ensure process, streams and feedback are monitored and handled properly
Fix, troubleshoot, and debug any streaming issues and provide root cause analyses for all major issues
Source and create opportunities for efficiency in all areas of the technical process
Ensure all company-wide policies, standards, and protocols are upheld on location and in-studio
Staying up to date in all new tools and programs that arise in the Twitch/live community, with a focus on testing out each to see what would be best for the productions
Requirements:
2-3 years experience in technical production, specializing in gaming or live streaming
Familiarity with Discord and other VOIPs and servers used for group gaming and streaming
In-depth understanding of the pre-production, production, and post-production processes
Ability to run tests and setup different technical and production workflows in order to find the most efficient solution for the needs of the programming
Experience managing a budget for gear purchases and upgrades, as needed
Experience directing a live production, from technical directing to troubleshooting on the fly
Strong written and verbal communication skills
