Full Time Paid Internship
The Digital / Editorial Internship will focus on research, writing and content strategy primarily for Smithsonian OTT and YouTube. This position will learn how we are working to grow Smithsonian in the OTT space, and supporting the continued development of our programming strategy and gather both subscriber and competitor knowledge.
- Supporting Cross-team campaigns and projects through editorial research
- Learning how to draw insights from analytics reports to enhance content
- Competitive Analysis of competitor websites, videos, apps and newsletters
- Drafting social copies for YouTube
- Writing clip titles and keywords
- Participating in all editorial brainstorming efforts, particularly long-term projects
- Supporting editorial databases and calendar up keep as needed
- Review existing copy assets
- Miscellaneous urgent tasks as they arise
Qualifications:
Required:
• Current undergraduate student (junior or above)
• Submission of cover letter- required
• Interest in the Cable/Entertainment Industry
• 2.5 GPA or above
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to work at least 20 hours/week from September 23rd to December 13th
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment under deadlines
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Able to provide administrative support as needed
Preferred:
• Strong writing skills
• Social media skills
• Familiarity with Google Products
• Cable television experience a plus
• Marketing experience a plus
• Active participation in extracurricular activities; clubs; and/or associations. Leadership positions while maintaining an above average GPA, a plus
• Prior internship experience in a related field, a plus
