We are looking for a Director's Assistant to join our Brooklyn-based production company. At Smartypants, we craft stories that connect with people. We are a collection of brand-builders. The Director's Assistant will join our Administrative team, providing support and reporting directly to our Academy Award® nominated, Founding Director. This person will hold a key role in supporting our Director, his calendar and contacts, at the highest level across a diverse cross-section of work, including branded content, commercials, and documentary film.
The successful candidate is a self-starter and proactive, highly organized, and able to work quickly juggling high volume requests with real autonomy and ownership. Flexibility and efficiency are key!
Location: Hybrid (Mostly remote, but with occasional need to be on-site in Brooklyn)
Key Responsibilities:
• Support Director with daily and long-term calendar management.
• Schedule meetings, create zoom links and open calls on Director's behalf.
• Support calls with note-taking as requested.
• Interface with clients and talent appropriately as an extension of the company and Director.
• Arrange and manage business travel and meetings, including developing agendas and itineraries; booking transportation; arranging lodging and other accommodations; and keep track of receipts and expenses
• Track and log Director's time in internal time-tracking system.
• Maintain a rolodex of VIP contacts and frequently update.
• Juggle multiple projects simultaneously and provide additional project and administrative support as needed.

Required Experience/Professional Skills:
• Minimum 1 - 2 years of combined assistant and entertainment experience.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the production industry. Particular interest and knowledge of documentary preferred.
• Exceptional organizational skills with an attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Exemplary time-management skills with an ability to handle multiple requests quickly and efficiently in order of priority.
• Experience in a talent agency environment is a huge plus!
