Skydance Animation is looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to manage and schedule both the day-to-day needs and long-term goals of a department as it transitions into Production. They report to show Production Managers and Producers. The ideal candidate is a proactive and positive team-player with the ability to multi-task amongst shifting priorities; they are an experienced leader who can motivate a team within a constantly changing environment.
Responsibilities
• Strategically partner and iterate with Producers and Production Managers on overall scheduling and allocated labor weeks for designated departments; ideally including creation and maintenance of schedules
• Proactively forecast weekly quotas, department milestones, inventory changes; understand how day-to-day shifts may affect labor weeks, scheduling, overtime
• Collaborate with department head to cast assignments, establish deadlines, monitor artist progress and workload
• Coordinate timely availability of resources and team; proactively flag inventory issues and communicate status of work and assignments to Production Manager
• Routine check-ins with artists and production staff, delivering reviews and feedback as necessary
• Support department leads in review sessions; responsible for accurate notes and communication of action items or changes to the necessary departments, artists, etc.
• Maintain continuous awareness of upstream and downstream departments statuses and needs
• Establish and maintain show-based asset database with accurate notes, statuses, and other relevant department information; ingest and monitor progress from production partners, as applicable
• Regularly sync with colleagues on the West Coast and in Madrid; confirm cross-site delivery schedules, communicate relevant feedback, and strategize deadlines
• Work in collaboration with Madrid Production to update department reports, document workflows, project scenarios, and communicate progress upward to Production Managers and Producers
• Partner with Talent Development for team planning and staffing; artist and production team feedback
• Manage logistical activities for department; establish agendas and help drive reviews and presentations
• Support and mentor Production Coordinators and Production Assistants, finding opportunities for growth and development
• Review and approve weekly time sheets for artists and production team
• Maintain crew moral by fostering a creative and inclusive working environment, supporting team interpersonal communication, and discussing real-time feedback; under the direction and guidance of production and/or studio leadership as necessary
Requirements
• 5 years' experience in production for animation; strong working knowledge of Lighting and FX needs
• Previous experience Supervising on an animated feature, preferred
• Extensive experience using ShotGrid or comparable tracking software
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suites
• Strong managerial expertise leading a team within a professional, fast-paced environment
• Exceptionally strong attention to detail, organizational and follow-through skills
• Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities while maintaining proactive communication across teams and departments
• Proactivity in anticipating, identifying, and ultimately solving issues
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interface with all levels of staff and management effectively and efficiently through strong written and verbal communication
The annual range for this exempt position in Los Angeles, CA is $72,500- $98,000/year. The rate offered may vary based on the candidate's location, qualifications, experience and relevant expertise, among other factors. The range indicated is for base salary only and does not reflect the total compensation package, including bonus, benefits, etc.
