The Production Finance Coordinator assists and supports the SVP, VPs and Production Finance department with various finance and accounting functions, additionally coordinating and interacting with other Skydance departments. This position will play a significant role in setting up new shows by assisting with the accounting software setups/closure and onboarding/offboarding of show accountants. This role will also assist with prep and wrap accounting for all TV projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn more about TV Production Finance, and an enthusiasm for starting their career in a fast paced, collegial environment.
Responsibilities
• Maintain calendar and scheduling for the Production Finance department
• Assist with general show set-up/changes/closures, including accounting system, payroll, banking, pcard account, and digital platforms
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding freelance accountants' access to banks and other accounting systems
• Coordinate and track show funding weekly
• Process payroll, accounts payable data entry, wires and ACH, journal entries, pcard reconciliation and entry, purchase orders, studio billbacks, etc.
• Assist with gathering required Production Finance deliverables including month end reports, bank reconciliations, ledgers, cost reports, trial balances, etc.
• Assist the department with inquiries and reports
• Assist with internal and external show audits
• Maintain electronic filing and records of all financial documents
• Ad hoc analyses, as required
• Additional departmental tasks as needed
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Minimum 1 to 2 years production accounting TV finance experience preferred but not necessary as we are willing to train candidates eager to learn
• Keen attention to detail, desire for accuracy and sense of urgency
• Strong analytical skills
• Self motivated
• Ability to multitask while maintaining organization
• Prefer working knowledge of industry union and guild rates and regulations
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Working knowledge of state and federal labor laws
• Working knowledge of Industry Production Accounting software Smart Accounting, Smart Suite products, DPO, Vista, PSL, MMB, Showbiz, Scenchronize, Optimis, Box, etc.
• Advanced Excel skills
• Show experience preferred
The hourly rate range for this non-exempt position in Los Angeles is $24.04 – $25.00. The rate offered may vary based on the candidate's location, qualifications, experience and relevant expertise, among other factors. The range indicated is for base salary only and does not reflect the total compensation package, including bonus, benefits, etc.
