We are looking to bring on a Studio Director of Operations to our team, who will be instrumental in pivotal in designing, setting up and maintaining the new Skybound Animation Studio based in North Hollywood, Ca. The role requires experience with animation and live action production from a financial, facilities, HR, and IT perspective. The ideal candidate has strong team managerial experience along with a great attention to detail.
Reports to: Head of Studio
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supervise the set up and maintenance of an active production facility
Assist in the hiring and support of the overhead team including:
Production Accountant
People ops
Post Supervisor
Facilities Coordinator
IT Help desk
Receptionist
Support Production teams with physical and fiscal needs
Strategize with Head of Studio (HOS) on building a robust and efficient production facility
Working with the Director of Post Production, set up and supervise a centralized post department that will support live action and animation production, and promotional materials.
Working with the CTO, supervise the technical design of the production facility to support all needs of the team.
Working with HR team, set up a streamline hiring pipeline and HR support network
Basic Qualifications:
BS or BA degree or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of studio management experience in an animation studio
Basic knowledge of the 2D animation pipeline with an outsourcing to Asia component
Strong oral and written communication skills with high attention to detail
Ability to self-motivate and work independently.
Good organizational strategic aptitude
Basic knowledge of accounting systems, payroll, financing estimating and strategic planning
Strong knowledge of information technologies including infra-structure, production set up needs, storage and post production
Basic knowledge of a TV post-production pipeline covering quality control, delivery and dubbing.
Experience working with vendors of all sorts including finding, vetting, supervision and paying.
