The ideal Publicity Assistant has a true passion for PR and 6 months to one year of experience in PR. This role requires a strong degree of multitasking, a sharp focus for details and an innate sense of urgency to promptly respond to team and media requests.
Candidates must also possess the following attributes and traits:
-Excellent project management and organization skills
-Exceptional writer
-Developing press materials including releases and pitch letters
-Exceptional verbal communications skills
-Experience with media database (Meltwater, Cision, Muckrack, etc)
-Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
-Demonstrated ability as a self-starter, detail-oriented
-Familiarity with standard marketing/communications concepts and practices
-Interest in comics, TV/Film, interactive games, or digital media content preferred
-B.A. in Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or Communications strongly preferred
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the below:
-Perform administrative duties in support of the PR team including organizing expense reports, managing PR equipment, mailing packages, booking team meetings, scheduling calls
-Manage the Director of Publicity's calendar
-Assist with special event planning and maintain communication with multiple vendors, manage costs/budget, handle set up/clean up to ensure event runs smoothly
-Book executive and talent travel and accommodations and create itineraries
-Research festivals, panels, editorial opportunities
-Develop and execute press materials including releases and pitches
-Maintain editorial/events calendars
-Maintain multiple press lists
-Oversee department interns
