Digital Cinema Mastering Operator

Simple DCP is a leading provider of digital cinema services for independent filmmakers and film festivals.

Digital Cinema Mastering Operator will be responsible for the encoding, packaging, and QC of digital cinema packages (DCPs) and other related tasks including:

• Preparation, ingest, and evaluation of source content
• Creation of Digital Cinema Source Masters and Distribution Masters
• Preparation and duplication of Blu-Rays and other Quicktime deliverables
• Troubleshooting problematic files, video and audio elements, and third party DCPs
• Duplication and repackaging of digital cinema content
• Configuration of subtitle and multitrack audio elements
• Coordination with scheduler to ensure project is tracked through completion
• Creation and distribution of Key Delivery Messages for encrypted content

Candidates must demonstrate knowledge and experience with the following:

• Modern Non-Linear Editing Systems (Avid, Final Cut Pro 7/X, Premiere, etc.)
• DaVinci Resolve
• Adobe Encore
• Most up-to-date digital video codecs and cinema/broadcast standards
• Mac OSX, Windows, and Linux operating environments
• LTO backup systems
• Basic IT/network administration

The ideal candidate will be a film lover that understands the unique needs of independent filmmakers and film festival operators working under tight deadlines and minimal budgets. Should be a self starter capable of troubleshooting and resolving technical issues on their own. Must be able to communicate effectively with our team and clients and have the ability to maintain a modestly flexible schedule during periods of increased client traffic.
