Simon and Schuster, Inc. is seeking a National Accounts Manager to join the Digital & Online Sales team to manage all aspects of our eAudio sales channel. This will include oversight for Audible, as well as 20 accounts and/or subscription programs and encompassing all Adult and Children's audio publishing, select Distribution Clients, and working in tandem with our international colleagues in the UK, Canada, and Australia. This role will work closely with a National Accounts Manager, eBooks counterpart for accounts with EB/EA lines of business and include staff management for one eAudio Sales Associate direct report.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct Seasonal List Presentations for several key accounts throughout the year, encompassing publisher priorities, audio-specific opportunities, and tailored to individual account demographics
• Maintain an ongoing calendar of account calls to present upcoming titles, highlight publicity and marketing, and review sales performance, trends, and market share
• Facilitate and/or drive quarterly or as-needed account business reviews
• Provide company-wide weekly account reporting and sales analysis
• Manage the editorial relationships at each account to include 'Best Of,' program nominations
• Pitch titles and authors and manage account requests for exclusive content, interviews, and video and serve as the liaison between the Publisher, Marketing, and account for feature execution and social amplification
• Oversight for all eAudio Price Promotions and analysis
• Serve as primary point of contact for all account communication and questions regarding, but not limited, to breaking news, title queries, metadata, assets, etc. and trafficking as needed to the appropriate internal team
• Work with the Audio Publisher and colleagues in Sales Leadership, Operations, and Business Development to open and facilitate new lines of business
Qualifications:
• Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent work experience
• Experience: 5-6 years of experience in publishing, preferably in sales, with proven leadership skills
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, problem solve, and demonstrate initiative in a deadline driven environment
• Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, organization, and attention to detail
• Results-oriented, motivated, resourceful and able to work independently
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint (prior knowledge of vLookup & Pivot Tables helpful, though not required)
• Prior knowledge of Cognos business intelligence software preferred, or a desire to learn
• Strong interest in book publishing, audio listening, content strategy, and the broader digital marketplace.
