Showtime Digital Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of SNI, operates the stand-alone streaming service SHOWTIME®. SHOWTIME is currently available to subscribers via cable, DBS, and telco providers, and as a stand-alone streaming service through Amazon, Apple®, Google, LG Smart TVs, Oculus Go, Roku®, Samsung Smart TVs and Xbox One.
Overview & Responsibilities
Showtime Networks seeks a hardworking Web Engineer/Javascript Developer. We look for someone who is innovative, self-motivated, a quick learner, and willing to develop new skills while constantly improving existing abilities. The candidate must also be a strong multi-tasker with superb time-management skills. In this position, you will craft and integrate the front and back-end frameworks for our standalone service SHOWTIME, and our TV Everywhere service, Showtime Anytime across multiple platforms.
The Web Engineer will join a focused team of developers with a wide range of skill sets to build and support highly-available, high-performance web sites and HTML5 apps on platforms like game consoles and connected TVs, as well as the associated web service platform. Our products are available to millions of users, so writing code that is centered on the users experience and conscious of the users needs is key. We're building the future of television, and along the way, we get to play with some amazing tech.
Key Technologies: Javascript and applicable frameworks (Backbone, React, Vue, etc.); Node, HTML5, CSS (Less/SASS) and any of their testing frameworks and tools.
Basic Qualifications
• 3 years of frontend development experience
• Background in web development
• Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) is preferred but not necessary
Additional Qualifications
• Experience with high-volume clustered sites
• Experience with highly scalable Node applications
• UX skills
• Accessibility experience
