Full Time Paid Internship
The approved candidate will support the Program Operations & Distribution team with the following key job functions:
• Sit in on operational meetings, and watch projects unfold from beginning to end. This involves participating in Post Production meetings, assisting in the creation of delivery schedules and incoming tracking spreadsheets.
• Learn Showtime's post production process from start to finish, and be involved with managing audio and video master elements.
• Support the Program Operations Scripted and Unscripted Managers in tracking incoming deliveries, entering records and validating the accuracy of audio and video assets into internal database.
• Participate in the creation of Free TV versions of Showtime series for worldwide usage.
• Learn the various digital formats and will assist in the digital distribution for all New Media outlets (i.e. iTunes, Amazon, Netflix, YouTube, etc.) by working with external vendors and internal departments.
• Collaborate in the creative feedback and approval of menus, audio & subtitle files, value added material and check discs for International and Domestic DVD releases.
• Assist in fulfilling contractual digital deliveries to International and Domestic SVOD/EST partners consisting of video and audio assets, captions, subtitles, metadata, paperwork and marketing materials.
• Utilize and maintain spreadsheets used to track incoming deliveries, assets, QC and fixes.
• Aid in compiling all weekly program delivery updates and run-times as this information is given to us from Post Production.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
• Current undergraduate student (rising Junior or above)
• Strong interest in Cable/Entertainment industry
• 2.50 GPA or above
• Submission of a cover letter is required
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment under deadlines
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work and prioritize work assignments
• Able to provide administrative support as needed
Desired Qualifications:
• Cable television experience a plus
• Active participation in extracurricular activities; clubs; and/or associations. Leadership positions while maintaining an above-average GPA, a plus
• Prior internship experience in a related field, a plus
Other Qualifications:
• Film Studies concentration/major preferred--able to look at films analytically from the perspective of a subscriber
• Excellent writing/grammatical skills
• Demonstrated interest in movies, with a working knowledge of a wide variety of films/actors/directors
• Fast and efficient worker, able to watch 2 films and write between 300-600 words per day
The internship program will run for eight weeks. Students work the months of June through August, beginning on June 11, 2018 and ending on August 3, 2018. Students will work full-time, Monday through Friday.
