WRITER DEVELOPMENT & PARTNERSHIPS MANAGER | Part Time with opportunity to be Full Time in the future
BASED IN LOS ANGELES.
We are an online screenwriting company that through our contests, education platforms, and film funds, connects emerging screenwriting talent with industry professionals, helping launch the careers of the next generation of screenwriters from around the world.
We are hiring a Writer Development and Partnerships Manager to engage with our unrivaled roster of contacts in the fields of screenwriting and filmmaking to identify and secure opportunities for our contest alumni and other emerging writers.
The role is focused on the Los Angeles film industry, working alongside a remote-based team. However, engagement will also extend to industry professionals in different US states, and countries like the UK, Canada, and Australia.
Responsibilities
Develop and nurture relationships with our emerging writers and document and pursue opportunities arising for them from our annual contests and other writing programs. Engage with our Industry and Directors roster to learn what projects they are looking for and tailoring and sharing selections of our best scripts to fit their production slate. Build relationships with new industry professionals (agents, managers, producers, production companies, and influential directors) who are looking to find the next great screenplay or podcast. Collaborating with a remote-based team to strategize and manage new ways to get our writers' work into the hands of the people who can really make a difference. Research, identify and manage new initiatives to partner and collaborate that will further help to promote our writing talent. Document and create creative content focusing on our alumni's Success Stories for sharing on our website, through social media, and for inclusion in other marketing channels.
Requirements
Extensive experience in the film industry and how it works. Ideally, you've worked at either a literary agency, in development, or a production capacity. A passion for writing plus direct experience working with screenwriters and filmmakers. An excellent organizer with strong experience in running projects and events and working with different partners. Experience with online and face-to-face networking and promotion platforms. Ability to work in a remote-based team environment using Google Drive and other online document and content management tools. Desirable Passion for helping promote creative talent. Strategic, dedicated, self-starting, with a willingness to forge new connections. Empathetic and know how to communicate with a wide range of personalities.
