DESCRIPTION:
The position will manage day-to-day administrative activities for the SVP, Communications. In addition to phones, updating call sheets, scheduling, and travel, this position will be responsible for creating, refining and tracking the internal and external publicity for all of Shine America. The assistant will also work closely with Human Resources on a project basis to ensure smooth on-boarding and internal communication of new hires.
Qualified candidates must be enthusiastic, passionate, flexible, creative and eager to take on the challenge of starting a brand new communications department at Shine America.
REQUIREMENTS:
Assist with coordinating various media requests to support all television/digital programming
Help develop and implement an internal and external communications strategy for Shine America
Prepare internal and external distribution and correspondence
Work and facilitate press events including press conferences, events and junkets
Develop and maintain positive relationships with public relations agencies and representatives in order to ensure maximum coverage for Shine programming
Draft various press materials including press releases, bios and more
Supervise media coverage and digital press efforts
Coordinate all new hire materials
On a case by case basis, handle job description drafting, job posting, sourcing and rejection letters for various levels of positions, vacation and timecard tracking and collection.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree
Knowledge of the TV industry and the media that covers it
Well-versed in the current industry, specifically television, landscape
Must be a self-starter, proactive, forward-thinking
Must work well under pressure
Superior writing skills and attention to detail
Ability to successfully coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent organization and communication skills
Strong work ethic
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
