Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this role is responsible for overseeing the growth and impact of SHE Media across all its flagship brands SheKnows, Flow Space, StyleCaster and Soaps as well as our live events including the SHE Media Co-lab: Whole Life Health @ SXSW and our Women’s Health Summits.
The ideal candidate is a highly strategic editorial brand leader with a growth mindset, responsible for shaping and executing SHE Media’s long-term content vision to drive differentiation and leadership across women’s lifestyle, health, and family categories. This role requires exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, a deep fluency in performance metrics, and the ability to lead, inspire, and collaborate with internal teams and external contributors. Proven experience developing premium, editorially driven events and live experiences—alongside digital, video, and social content—is essential. A strong understanding of the broader media business and a passion for cross-functional collaboration with senior stakeholders are critical to success.
The Work:
• Create and implement a long-term vision and oversee content strategy for SHE Media flagship brands across all platforms.
• Ensure SHE Media remains audience-first, data-informed and platform agnostic, optimizing content distribution across owned, social, video, syndication and emerging platforms.
• Manage the content publishing cycle, deadlines and performance across all platforms
• Oversee live events and work with teams to develop topics and programming as well as source talent.
• Participate in and moderate panel discussions and fireside chats at SHE Media’s live events as well as other industry events with thought leaders, content creators/influencers, celebrities and advertising clients.
• Manage and oversee SHE Media’s event team for digital and social content.
• Manage SHE Media’s full-time editorial staff and outside contributors.
• Manage editorial P&L and content budget.
• Participate in public speaking engagements to promote SHE Media content, events and franchises externally.
The Fine Print:
• 20 years of professional writing/editing experience, specifically with online health and wellness brands
• 5 years of editorial and marketing management
• Proven ability to build community based on shared interests. Examples include advisories, contributor communities, expert panels, insider groups, focus groups, etc.
• Strong editorial judgment and ability to distill complex scientific information into easily digestible and engaging content for readers
• A demonstrated understanding of digital strategy, analytics, ROI investment and social growth
• A network of exceptional writers and strong roster of industry contacts
• Ability to participate in and lead conversations with senior level executives across all media departments and with Penske Media Corp
• Proven experience in relationship development with key talent, celebrities and influencers
