Position Overview
The Project Manager, reporting to the General Manager, serves as the central leader for assigned live entertainment, concerts and festival projects, ensuring seamless execution from concept through completion. This role requires deep expertise in festival project management with a strong background in rigging and technical production drafting. The Project Manager must be proficient in interpreting and reviewing CAD drawings, vectorworks, rigging plots, and technical specifications for large-scale festival environments.
Successful candidates will combine exceptional organizational skills, technical acumen, and client relationship management with hands-on leadership in fast-paced live event environments. The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing budgets and schedules, and ensuring clear communication with clients, vendors, and internal departments to deliver outstanding and safe festival experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary liaison for clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, with a focus on complex festival builds.
Lead all phases of project management—initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure—ensuring festival production milestones are achieved.
Apply advanced knowledge of festival rigging systems, stage structures, and load distribution to review and approve build drawings, technical designs, and rigging plots.
Interpret and validate festival CAD drawings, site plans, and technical layouts to ensure feasibility, safety, and accuracy.
Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to achieve client and company objectives while adhering to safety regulations and compliance standards.
Facilitate collaboration across departments (design, rigging, fabrication, logistics, operations, etc.) to ensure cohesive project delivery.
Conduct kickoff and coordination meetings, documenting decisions, action items, and progress updates.
Oversee onsite festival operations—including load-in, rigging verification, staging, and rehearsals—ensuring deadlines, build quality, and client expectations are met.
Proactively identify risks related to rigging safety, environmental challenges, or logistical conflicts, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Support the Sales team in preparing specific scopes of work, pricing proposals, and technical contract details.
Partner with Accounts Receivable to manage billing schedules, invoicing, and payment follow-ups.
Represent the company with professionalism and technical authority onsite with clients, engineers, inspectors, and production crews.
Perform other duties as assigned by management in support of project success.
Requirements
Proven experience in project management for large-scale rigging, live events, or touring productions.
Strong knowledge of Project Managing festivals, festival rigging, staging systems, load capacity, and compliance with safety standards.
Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and critique CAD drawings, technical drafts, and rigging plots.
Familiarity with fabrication processes, site builds, and technical production workflows specific to festivals.
Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage large, diverse teams under high-pressure conditions.
Strong background in vendor management, subcontractor coordination, and procurement for festival-scale productions.
Experience conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies for rigging and structural elements.
Exceptional problem-solving, multitasking, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
Flexibility to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and travel as required for festival builds and event management.

Physical Requirements
Due to the demanding nature of festival project management and onsite operations, the role requires:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (10–12 hours per shift during festivals).
Frequent lifting, carrying, or moving equipment weighing up to 50 lbs, with team lifts up to 75 lbs.
Ability to climb stairs, scaffolding, truss, or temporary structures at event sites.
Manual dexterity to handle tools, rigging gear, or production equipment as needed.
Visual acuity to review rigging plots, CAD drawings, and festival site layouts in varying light conditions.
Tolerance for outdoor environments with exposure to heat, cold, rain, wind, dust, and high noise levels.
Stamina to work irregular schedules, including long shifts, overnight builds, extended festival weekends, and international travel when required.
