As an Automation Operator with SGPS ShowRig, you’ll be responsible for the programming and live operation of automation systems that bring productions to life. You will work side-by-side with technicians, stage managers, and production teams to ensure effects are executed flawlessly. This role demands technical precision, adaptability under pressure, and a commitment to safety.
Responsibilities
Program and operate the automation console during live events, concerts, and television broadcasts.
Participate in shop preparations: label, pack, and organize automation equipment for transport.
Partner with Automation Technicians to troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions.
Monitor automation cues in real time and adjust programming as needed.
Collaborate with production staff to ensure cues align seamlessly with performance timing.
Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on automation systems.
Provide training and guidance on safe automation practices.
Participate in emergency procedure training.
Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
Experience programming and operating automation systems.
Strong troubleshooting and technical repair skills.
Calm under pressure with knowledge of emergency protocols.
Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Commitment to safety standards and crew well-being.
Ability and willingness to travel extensively.
Physical and Social Requirements

Physically capable of lifting and moving up to 50 lbs.
