Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you will be involved in every aspect of production including pitching story ideas, booking guests,
writing scripts and editing. We're looking for an exceptional producer with experience in producing strong audio and video segments on tight timelines.
Create Vision
- Develop the creative vision of the podcast working closely with host
- Prepare and present podcast content ideas based on analytics, insights, SEO and audience questions
- Manage the show's content, including writing scripts, interview questions, show notes and summaries
- Identify and highlight podcast clips for promotion
- Plan and maintain podcast and video content calendar
Production
- Manage podcast production from start to finish
- Record episodes and oversee video production
- Edit podcast episodes and/or oversee freelance editors to edit, mix and master the recorded content
- Work with Marketing team to execute sponsor and podcast promotional plans
- Track and execute ads for sponsor reads
Coordinate Guest Interviews
- Research and recommend high caliber guests who deliver valuable content that appeals to and engages a large audience
- Vet, book and prep guests
- Develop interview questions and run of show
- Plan prep time with host to fully brief before recording show
- Maintain continuity during the episode
Management
- Manage production team
- Publish episodes
- Work with networks, internal team, and sponsors
- Track podcast statistics and present reports and recommendations to grow audience base
- Budget management for department
Qualifications and Preferred Skills
- A minimum of four years of experience producing audio for radio or podcasts
- Demonstrated passion for news and pop culture
- Experience in recording audio, in studio, remotely and in the field
- Experience in editing audio and video
- Sharp eye for talent and good stories
- Excited about show development and the creative process behind new projects
- Passionate about storytelling and connecting show content with target audiences
- Comfortable giving and receiving feedback as necessary
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to pitch
- Ability to work efficiently on deadline; adaptability to changing workflows and editorial demands
- Must be comfortable with talking about sexual health, wellness, mature content, and sex in general
- Must live in the Los Angeles area
