Content Manager - In-Office, Hybrid
Dynamic Content Manager
The Content Manager oversees and handles all the incoming and outgoing music content and manages the digital assets. This position also assists the Company's Creative Directors in sourcing music from its repertoire, as well as managing, uploading, tagging new material into our proprietary database and logging same in Company's detailed content management spreadsheets. They may also edit content authored by others.
About the Candidate: The right person for the job must have the organizational skills of a project manager and the ability to converse fluently with our engineer and team members. They are the 'keeper' of the catalog and should be able to identify and pull music if asked for a search by one of the Creative Directors. The person should understand deadlines, be able to operate independently, and also when to seek help from team members or managers to make the work happen. Candidate will be able to foresee potential roadblocks and conflicting priorities and mitigate while keeping calm under pressure. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver and self-starter.
Primary Duties/Qualifications include by are not limited to:
* Excellent communication and project management skills
* Awareness of AWS (bonus if you have used an S3 bucket)
* Curiosity to improve the process and make recommendations on digital content best practices in order to optimize content management process and performance, rather than just accept norms
* Ability to understand various music genres, styles as well as the difference between publishing and master rights
* Must be able to lead a team when necessary and own their own domain
* Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and deliver upon tight deadlines
* Ability to creatively solve problems
* A positive, enthusiastic attitude and ability to work with a small team
Preferred/Requirements Qualifications:
* BA/BS in a related field and a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
* Tech savvy, experience managing content on a website that supports image & mp3 uploads
* Awareness of music file formats, specifically MP3s, their metadata, and the iTunes metadata input system
* Know where to find data on Artists, bios, album artwork. Spotify, Discog, LastFM, MusicBrainz to ensure that Artist profiles are complete
* Comfortable managing google docs and spreadsheets
