About the Role: This role is for someone who can handle both editorial/post functions as well as digital production functions. Apart from assisting with things like pitch materials from time-to-time, this role will not require substantial involvement with the feature and traditional media side of the company's business but there will be opportunities to become more involved in those areas over time if desired.
Important Note: Sent To Destroy produces authentic, genre-focused content and it is a lifestyle business and brand so both the productions and general culture of the company are fully immersive in the worlds of horror, metal and all the dark stuff in between. The right candidate should have some general familiarity with and interest in those areas and be a person who enjoys and is not bothered or offended by R-rated content.
General Job Description:
- Assist with coordination, production and recording of digital video and audio content, and content for social, marketing and promotion, including communication and interaction with talent and guests
- Editorial and other post needs for digital video and audio content, and content for social, marketing and promotion, including media management, video/sound editing, sound design, graphics, graphic effects, closed captions, transcripts, color, sound cleanup and mix, formatting, export, etc.
- Quality control and troubleshooting as needed at all stages of production and post
- Assist with content upload and publication/distribution via various platforms and outlets
- Assist from time-to-time with preparation of pitch materials (e.g., pitch decks, sizzles, look books, etc.) and other requested items and materials
- Help establish and maintain consistent workflows and content style/standards
Requirements:
- Proficiency in video, audio and photo/graphic editing programs (e.g., Premiere Pro, Audition, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, etc.) and other programs for color, etc.
- Reasonable proficiency with digital video and audio production equipment (e.g., cameras, lights, microphones, audio interfaces, etc.)
- Good understanding of storytelling, pacing and visual/audio composition
- Good understanding of and familiarity with established and emerging platforms for distribution of digital video, audio and social content (e.g., YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.), including best practices, technical requirements, upload specs, etc.
- Highly organized, proactive, punctual, attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Generally tech savvy
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- General familiarity with and interest in horror and heavy metal and be a person who enjoys and is not bothered or offended by R-rated content
- Local to Los Angeles, CA
Status:
- Part-time freelance/contractor with potential for growth into full-time employee role. Current needs are generally 3 days per week and a minimum number of days per week will be guaranteed to offer consistency. There is reasonable flexibility on days/hours. Rate is to be determined based on experience and related factors.
